A national platform uniting researchers, academics, government institutions, and industry professionals to advance Sri Lanka's geospatial future.
Remote Sensing and GIS have become essential technologies driving environmental management, urban planning, disaster response, agriculture, land administration, and climate studies across Sri Lanka.
With rapid advances in drone mapping, artificial intelligence, satellite imagery, cloud computing, and spatial data science, this conference creates a national forum for experts from universities, government institutions, private organizations, and international agencies to converge.
Organized by the Department of Remote Sensing and GIS, Faculty of Geomatics, SUSL, this one-day conference is expected to draw 150+ participants from across the island and beyond.
Conference Objectives
The conference welcomes submissions across four interconnected domains of geospatial science.
Environmental monitoring, land cover mapping, precision agriculture, disaster risk reduction, and multispectral image analysis using cutting-edge satellite platforms.
Drone photogrammetry, LiDAR, AI-powered feature extraction, real-time positioning systems, and next-generation surveying and mapping technologies.
Cloud computing architectures, open-source GIS platforms, geospatial web services, Google Earth Engine applications, and scalable spatial data infrastructure.
Big spatial data analytics, machine learning for geospatial applications, geostatistics, urban analytics, and data-driven approaches to national development challenges.
